PSD Is Not A Left-Wing Party

Now that Romania’s government has fallen and Ilie Bolojan can focus on nude modeling, it’s high time to dispel a myth once and for all.

PSD, the Social Democratic Party, you may be shocked to learn, is not a left-wing party. Not really.

If you ask Claude, Gemini, or Grok, they will tell you that PSD is center-left, socially conservative, and kinda nationalistic. PSD big shots will say so themselves. And many Europeans actually believe that they are on the Left.

In reality, however, things are a little more complicated – or maybe confusing is a better term.

First, it’s important to note that roughly half of the Romanian population lives in rural areas, and many rural folks – or as I like to call them, peasants – are registered party members who vote for PSD in every election. They are usually, and technically, on the Right. Romania as a whole is pretty conservative.

That being said, let’s talk about PSD politicians – council members, mayors, senators, etc. I’m Romanian, and I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with plenty of these fuckers over the years. I hate their guts. Nevertheless, I will tell you the truth.

The overwhelming majority of PSD politicians are unsophisticated midwits who identify as Christians, truly believe in God, are prone to corruption, lie like a cheap watch, oppose abortion and same-sex marriage, and, most importantly, don’t give a fuck about others.

So PSD is not a left-wing party.

Which is not to say that PSD is a right-wing party. But they are more center-right than center-left, that’s for sure. Any honest Romanian with a brain will tell you this.

In recent days I’ve seen a shitload of EU politicians and foreign journalists bitching on social media about the unholy alliance between PSD and AUR, the “far-right”, “anti-European” party, which ousted the prime minister.

How could they?! And why?! Well, it makes much more sense now, doesn’t it?

And I’ve seen some of them, these fucking retards, saying – believing! – that PSD is – I kid you not – a socialist party.

Adorable.

If you can find me a single PSD politician who’s a genuine socialist I’ll jump off a cliff.

And yet PSD is a member of the Progressive Alliance, the Socialist International, and the Party of European Socialists. Why? I have no idea. I guess that if you tell them that you’re socialist, they’ll accept you.

Last year I had the opportunity to speak with a guy who had represented PSD in those aforementioned socialist organizations. He is a closeted conservative who worked for the party for many years, and who, by the way, agrees with me wholeheartedly.

I asked him, “Do they actually think that PSD is a socialist party?”

I’ll never forget his answer: “Oh, if they only knew…”

And then he burst out laughing.
